Must obtain a valid C-10 license within 1 year of appointment if not currently licensed. Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and on-call.

TRADESWOMEN. INC. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Tradeswomen, Inc. has been a support and advocacy organization for women in the building trades since 1979.
TWI's mission is to increase the number of women working in the building trades and to ensure that they can thrive in their construction careers.
The three keys to achieving this goal are:
·Recruitment: Inform women and girls about trades career opportunities, targeting women in low income communities;
·Retention: Provide support services needed to enable women to stay in the trades - especially mentoring, child care, support networks, and eliminating sexual harassment and discrimination;
· Leadership Development: Provide women with the skills to advance on the job and in their unions and in other ways; create tradeswomen forums to enact policy reforms that will enhance recruitment and retention; help train women in leadership roles within TWL
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Responsible for overall leadership of staff, consultants and volunteers in the development and implementation of short and long range plans and policies and other activities
·Responsible for the financial management of the corporation, including the development and implementation of the annual budget
·Responsible for the development, implementation, and accomplishment of the annual work plan of the organization as approved by the Board of Directors.
·Responsible for liaison with organizations, such as unions and apprenticeship programs, pre-apprenticeship programs, community groups, government agencies, schools and those offering recruitment and retention opportunities for women in the trades.
·Responsible for providing information, advice, support and counsel to the Board of Directors and Board Committees in the creation of policies, programs, and strategic direction of the organization.
·Responsible for administration of overall operation of the organization, including: reviewing and evaluating the results of program activities, ensuring that continuing contractual obligations are being fulfilled; allocating resources for greater program effectiveness and efficiency.
Experience:
·Organizational, program development and event management skills essential;
·Grantwriting and fundraising experience highly desired;
·Commitment to increasing women's opportunities in construction is mandatory; experience with construction, unions and/or apprenticeship programs a plus
·Self-motivated, able to work individually and as part of a team;
·Strong communication skills-oral and written, Good computer skills.
Salary: $45-50,000 plus benefits. Full-time position.
Location: The position is based in Oakland. Some travel, primarily in Northern California, might be involved.
