University of CA.Santa Cruz Dining Services Mechanic
F/T Career. Minimum Starting Salary: $4501/month
Description:
Under the general supervision of the Operations Support Coordinator and direction by the Dining HVAC Specialist, the incumbent performs a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance, alteration, and repair of equipment, facilities and systems within the University Dining Services kitchens. Service is provided to the kitchen facilities and serving areas at Cowell/Stevenson, Crown/Merrill, Porter, and College Eight/Oakes, Colleges 9/10 and other production areas as assigned.
Specific duties include:
Journey-level experience and skills in building- or commercial kitchen maintenance, involving experience in at least one of the skilled crafts, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades.
Demonstrated mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills as related to kitchen equipment and systems repairs.
Thorough knowledge of the theory and operation of major types of refrigeration equipment and of the materials, equipment and techniques used to repair and maintain such equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge of safe working practices.
Demonstrated organizational skills necessary to prioritize own work and that of assistants, as well as to establish and maintain a shop and stores inventories.
