SHEET METAL INSTRUCTOR--Long Beach City College

Salary range of $39,351.00 - $65,280.90 is commensurate with academic preparation and experience.

Position Description
Long Beach Community College District is currently seeking to fill one full-time tenure track Sheet Metal Instructor commencing with the 2005-2006 academic year. The primary teaching assignment includes teaching the full range of courses in the field of sheet metal. The assignment also includes curriculum development, participation in the participatory governance process through work in normal professional activities, committee work, and student activities. The assignment may be at any of the college’s teaching locations and may involve both day and evening assignments.

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree AND two years of experience in the discipline including any certificate or license required to do that work, OR Associates degree AND six years of experience in the discipline including any certificate or license required to do that work, OR Hold a valid credential to teach in the discipline, OR Meet equivalent qualifications established by the District, AND

2. Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

HVAC Mechanical Systems Instructor--Long Beach City College

Long Beach Community College District is currently seeking to fill one full-time tenure track Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration (HVAC)/Mechanical Systems Instructor commencing with the 2005-2006 academic year. The primary teaching assignment includes teaching the full range of courses in the field air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and mechanical systems. The assignment also includes curriculum development, participation in the participatory governance process through work in normal professional activities, committee work, and student activities. The assignment may be at any of the college’s teaching locations and may involve both day and evening assignments.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree AND two years of experience in the discipline including any certificate or license required to do that work, OR Associates degree AND six years of experience in the discipline including any certificate or license required to do that work, OR Hold a valid credential to teach in the discipline, OR Meet equivalent qualifications established by the District

2. E.P.A. Certification Section 608 (Universal) and Section 609.
