WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATOR TRAINEE OPPORTUNITIES
Over the next two years, East Bay Municipal Utility District expects to hire a number of entry-level operator trainees. Over the course of a few years, entry-level trainees get the opportunity to learn knowledge and skills up to the journey level. Trainees assist operators on the job, complete training courses and are provided with technical on-the-job training. They are expected to complete training and advance through the career series.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
High school graduation or GED
No experience required
Strong basic math skills
Ability to learn a variety of new information in a short period of time
Manual dexterity to use a variety of tools
Valid California driver's license with a good driving record
Sufficient agility to work in confined spaces and climb ladders. Sufficient strength to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and work overtime as needed
Willingness to be clean shaven as required to wear respiratory protection equipment
Possession of or ability to obtain within one month of hire a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator-in-Training certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB)
SELECTION PROCESS
This selection process is highly competitive. It will include:
1. Application submission
2. A rigorous video/written test that tests ability to learn new information and math readiness
3. A review of driving record information
