Cargill Salt in Newark, California is accepting applications for Solar Maintenance Mechanics. These are IAM Union positions.
Solar Maintenance Mechanics are responsible to maintain, repair and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment for a salt manufacturing facility.
Requirements
• Be physically able to perform the job duties including bending, stooping, shoveling, sweeping, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights up to 80 feet, lifting, working in confined spaces, and working at high temperatures.
• Physical ability and stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Minimum one year maintenance experience (industrial, military or contract)
• Be willing and able to attend job related training and educational classes (i.e.: PM, PdM, Precision Maintenance, etc) outside of normal working hours and achieve ratings/marks which indicate satisfactory understanding of the job requirements. This may include travel overnight or multiple nights.
• Available to work any shift, demonstrate willingness to work extended hours and be available for call outs.
• Must be able to work outdoors and in inclement weather.
• Have a valid driver's license and provide DMV evidence of acceptable driving record.
• Demonstrated positive attitude toward/interest in safety and safe work rules.
• Demonstrated ability to read/write English.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions (written and spoken)
