CONSTRUCTION/CABINETMAKING OCCUPATIONS INSTRUCTOR

Full-time, part-time, substitute
POSTING DATE: 1/30/08
SALARY: Hourly $34.23-$44.84 (5 steps)
SUBSTITUTE: $28.40/Hr.
CLOSING DATE: Until Filled
START DATE: After application and credential process is complete

QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a Designated Subject-Voc. Ed. Credential authorizing the instruction of Grades 9-12 and adults in OR have 5 years experience (1 year of experience must have been in the last 3 years) in Construction/Cabinetmaking Occupations, or related field(s), and be willing to obtain a California Voc. Ed. Designated Subject credential

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of: Current methods and procedures of Carpentry, Residential and Commercial Repair and Remodeling, Plumbing, Cabinetmaking and Electrical procedures.

Must have experience and knowledge of instructional and code requirements in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, general maintenance, and cabinetmaking.

Ability to: Instruct students; may include instruction, problem solving and job seeking skills to prepare the students for the real world of work for successful employment in entry-level positions. DMV printout required.
Education: H.S. diploma.

SOUTHEAST ROP: The Southeast ROP is a Joint Powers ROP serving the ABC and Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School Districts. We are a public educational program specializing in vocational education.

The SEROP has classes located on campuses in the ABC and Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School Districts. The communities served by the SEROP include, Artesia, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, La Mirada, Norwalk, and portions of Bellflower, Lakewood, and Long Beach.
