GAS PIPELINE WELDER/LAYOUT FITTER
SALARY RANGE:
Grades I - II: $1,797.76 to $2,442.96 Biweekly
$3,909.00 to $5,311.00 Monthly

REQUIREMENTS TO FILE:
1. A valid Gas Pipeline Welder (ASME Section IX or API 1104) Certification (proof required)* AND one-year of journey-level experience welding pipelines that must include pipe layout fitter experience. OR
2. One-year journey level experience welding pipelines AND a Certificate of Completion from a recognized apprenticeship as a Pipe Fitter*.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license and current DMV driving record must be submitted to the hiring department at time of selection interview. Willingness to work weekends, nights, holidays and overtime as required. Availability to respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis. Must comply with the Long Beach Gas and Oil Anti-Drug Program as required by the Department of Transportation regulations. If appointed, candidates will be required to complete the Department of Transportation certification during probationary period and re-certification annually.
* Applications will not be processed until all required proofs are received. Any required proofs, such as certificates, diplomas, licenses, or transcripts, must be received in the Civil Service Department by close of filing.
