FIELD OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR--Santa Clara Valley Water District

DUTIES: To administer Equipment Rental Contracts (ERC) and other field operations procurements for the District=s five watersheds (three Divisions) to maximize efficiency and minimize cost. This position is responsible for all aspects of the scheduling, acquiring and assigning of equipment and materials needed for field crews in the watershed operations; coordinating the preparation of procurement bid documents and purchase requests; monitoring performance of vendors and contractors with respect to related purchase orders, agreements and contracts; and coordinating the reuse and/or disposal of sediment generated from field operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Three years of responsible field construction, maintenance, or raw water distribution and groundwater recharge experience including one year of performing administrative responsibilities or providing lead direction on an ongoing or project basis and Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in engineering or a related field.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California drivers license may be required with determinations made on a case by case basis. Prior to appointment, candidates will be required to successfully pass a medical examination.

SALARY: $6,200.37 - $7,554.56 per month - Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes District payment of 8% PERS - Public Employees= Retirement System

SELECTION PROCESS: 1) The District Employment Application, Supplemental Questionnaire and any other required documents (resume recommended) will be evaluated for minimum qualifications. 2) Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will proceed to an application package appraisal assessment, which will be weighted 100%. 3) Candidates who best match the requirements of the position will be invited for an interview, which may include a performance and/or written exercise.
