Physical Plant – Campus Services has (2) positions available and is looking for talented and experienced Facilities/Industrial Maintenance Electricians. The Campus consists of structures built from the early 1900’s to today’s high tech, energy efficient designs and offers a challenging variety of work in a beautiful setting.
The ideal applicants would have excellent mechanical skills and be familiar with a diverse range of systems and methods, including trouble-shooting, repairing and installing general electrical circuits, low-voltage lighting controls, electric motors, motor controls and retrofit conduit installations.
Under supervision, maintain repair and install electrical systems and components. Incumbent frequently participates in the design of assemblies, systems, equipment and/or controls electric or mechanical; work from drawings, single line schematics or verbal instruction and selects necessary materials to perform their duties
Requirements & Qualifications: Completion of a 4 year apprenticeship program (or equivalent) and 5 years as a Journeyman Electrician. Working knowledge of national, state and local electrical codes. Excellent communications skills, ability to read prints and work independently a must. Valid CA driver’s license. Ability to lift 75 lbs., climb ladders, stairs and scaffolding. Must be able to respond to emergencies at all hours and work on call.
